Recently, the 2nd iTAP Testing Conference, hosted by the Intelligent Terminal Microelectronics Association (ITMA) and organized by Beijing unionpay card technology co., ltd., was successfully held in Beijing. The conference attracted nearly 20 companies, covering a wide range of iTAP-related products such as chip modules and smart terminals, providing strong support for the implementation of iTAP technical standards and their industrial application.

The State Radio_monitoring_center Testing Center and Beijing unionpay card technology co., ltd., as ITMA-authorized iTAP evaluation laboratories, provided full technical support and testing assurance throughout the event. The technical teams from both parties worked closely together to carry out test verification, anomaly identification, and issue analysis, ensuring the high-quality execution of all tasks of the conference.

During the conference, devices submitted by four ITMA member companies — Huawei, Emperor Technology, Goodix, and Huayi Micro — successfully passed the on-site iTAP access layer conformance testing, demonstrating strong compliance with the standard. The testing results clearly validated the maturity and practical readiness of these products, marking another step forward in the industrial adoption of iTAP technology.

Meanwhile, the testing process also identified deviations in some devices from key parameters and interaction procedures required by the iTAP access layer technical specifications. A few products still require optimization in areas such as timeout handling, timing window control, and exception command processing mechanisms. All related issues were systematically recorded on-site and thoroughly communicated with the participating companies, providing clear direction for product improvement and protocol alignment. These findings also contribute valuable practical data for future standard refinement and the iterative development of the testing framework.

The testing conference further solidified the foundation for scaling iTAP technology from standardization to real-world application. It not only accelerated the refinement of the technical specifications and the maturity of testing tools but also strengthened industry collaboration and technical alignment. Looking ahead, ITMA will continue to drive the rollout of the iTAP application layer standards, foster a more robust industry ecosystem, and contribute to delivering smarter, more stable, and more efficient near-field interaction experiences.
